Outsourcing has become a popular way for business owners to save time and money while still running a successful operation. As a Shopify dropshipping business owner, I decided to take this concept to the extreme and outsource my entire business on Fiverr.
For those who are unfamiliar, Shopify dropshipping is a business model where you set up an online store, find products to sell, and have them shipped directly from the supplier to the customer. It’s a popular way for entrepreneurs to start an e-commerce business without having to deal with inventory or shipping logistics.
I had been running my Shopify dropshipping business for a few months and was starting to feel overwhelmed. Between finding new products, managing customer inquiries, and handling marketing efforts, I felt like I was constantly juggling multiple tasks at once. That’s when I came across a freelancer on Fiverr who specialized in Shopify dropshipping services.
I decided to take the plunge and outsource my entire business to this freelancer. I provided them with access to my Shopify store, as well as a detailed outline of what I wanted them to do. This included product research, order fulfillment, customer support, and social media marketing.
At first, things seemed to be going smoothly. The freelancer was responsive and seemed to be on top of things. However, as time went on, I started to notice a few issues. Orders were being fulfilled late, customer inquiries were going unanswered, and sales were starting to decline.
I reached out to the freelancer to address these concerns, but their response was lackluster. It became clear to me that outsourcing my entire Shopify dropshipping business on Fiverr was not the right move.
In the end, I decided to take back control of my business and handle things myself. It was a valuable lesson learned, and I now have a better understanding of the importance of being hands-on in my business operations.
While outsourcing can be a great way to free up your time and focus on other aspects of your business, it’s important to carefully vet the freelancers you work with and have a clear understanding of what you expect from them. In the case of my Shopify dropshipping business, I found that outsourcing everything was not the best solution for me.
Overall, my experience outsourcing my entire Shopify dropshipping business on Fiverr was a mixed bag. While it initially seemed like a good idea, the lack of communication and inconsistency in the freelancer’s work ultimately led me to take back control. It’s a reminder that as a business owner, it’s important to stay involved in all aspects of your business to ensure its success.
